BOUCHMAL GROUP

Choosing silicon means designing the whole computing system.

The most advanced chip is not automatically the best chip for a particular robot, spacecraft, factory or edge device. A useful system choice starts with workload, latency, memory movement, power, software compatibility and deployment economics.

Layers of the compute stack

  • Architecture: CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, DSPs and heterogeneous acceleration for the actual workload.
  • Memory and connectivity: bandwidth, capacity, data transfer, packaging and communication between devices.
  • Power and reliability: cooling, energy efficiency, thermal stability, deterministic latency and system life.
  • Industrial supply: fabrication, packaging, testing, qualification, sourcing and long-term availability.

What technical diligence checks

Compare reproducible workload measurements and total system constraints rather than relying on advertised peak performance alone. Include software toolchains, security updates, spare capacity and the ability to manufacture or source components consistently.
